Frontier Airlines orders nine Airbus A321ceo aircraft

Deal marks customer’s first order for largest A320 Family member
24 NOVEMBER 2014 PRESS RELEASE
Frontier Airlines has placed a firm order for nine Airbus A321ceo (current engine option) aircraft. This is the first time Frontier has ordered the largest member of the Airbus A320 Family. The airline currently flies a fleet of 35 A319ceo, and 20 A320ceo aircraft. In addition, Frontier has on its order backlog 80 A320neo (new engine option) family aircraft.
Including the order announced today, Frontier has a backlog of 89 Airbus single-aisle aircraft. The airline has not yet announced its engine selection or the seating configuration for its A321s.
Frontier began its transition to an all-Airbus fleet when it took delivery of its first Airbus aircraft in 2001. Since that time, the Airbus single-aisle family has allowed the airline to expand its route network while minimizing operating costs.
“We continue to come back for more A320 Family aircraft because they fulfill our mission of providing low fares through low operating costs,” said David Siegel, Frontier Airlines CEO. The A321 is a natural fit with our unique brand of Low Fares, Done Right and will continue to help meet our customers’ expectations for a safe and reliable travel experience while allowing us to provide low fare service to more of the country.”
“Frontier has made its mark in this business by recognizing the dual importance of cost and service to a low fare airline,” said John Leahy, Airbus Chief Operating Officer Customers. “Minimizing expenditure while maximizing customer satisfaction can be a challenge, but the A320 Family has proven time and time again that it is the optimal solution.”
While passengers benefit from the A321’s state-of-the-art cabin design, wider seats and enhanced comfort, airlines profit from the unique operational flexibility of Airbus’ single-aisle aircraft. The A320 Family is the world’s best-selling single aisle product line with nearly 11,000 orders to date and more than 6,200 aircraft delivered to 400 customers and operators worldwide. Thanks to its widest cabin, all members of the A320 Family offer the industry’s best level of comfort in all classes and Airbus’ 18” wide seats in economy as standard. An A320 Family aircraft takes off or lands somewhere in the world every two seconds.

Delta orders 50 Airbus widebody aircraft

25 A350-900 and 25 A330-900neo to join fleet of leading U.S. airline
20 NOVEMBER 2014 PRESS RELEASE
Delta Air Lines has placed a firm order for 50 new Airbus widebody aircraft, 25 A350-900 and 25 A330-900neo aircraft. Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines will power the Airbus A330neo aircraft and Trent XWB engines will power Airbus A350 XWB aircraft.
“When the most successful U.S. airline today – a company that has flown passengers around the world for more than 80 years, has 80-thousand employees and 165 million customers in a year – says ‘yes we want 50 more of your widebody planes’, you can’t debate the fact that it is a massive endorsement of your product line,” said John Leahy, Airbus’ Chief Operating Officer – Customers. “Airbus is unique in offering an optimized long-range choice in aircraft that will allow Delta to continue to modernize its fleet and customize its use with the most efficient and comfortable aircraft available.”
Delta Air Lines currently flies both Airbus single-aisle and widebody aircraft, including 57 A319ceo and 69 A320ceo aircraft, plus 11 A330-200s and 21 A330-300s. In addition to the order announced today, Delta has an order backlog of 10 A330-300s and 45 A321ceo aircraft, bringing its total Airbus backlog to 105 aircraft.
The A350 XWB is the latest addition to the market-leading Airbus widebody product line. Offering its customers a 25 percent reduction in fuel-burn, the all-new mid-size long-range A350 XWB Family aircraft can seat up to 369 passengers in a typical two-class layout. The A350 has a carbon fibre fuselage and wings and sets new standards in terms of passenger experience, operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness. At the end of October 2014, the A350 XWB had won 750 orders from 39 customers worldwide.
The A330 Family has now attracted more than 1,300 orders. Over 1,100 A330 Family aircraft are flying with more than 100 operators worldwide. The A330 is one of the world’s most efficient aircraft with best in class operating economics. Airbus has committed to continuously improving the program since the A330’s service entry. The company spends approximately 150 million euros each year on enhancements and incremental improvements for the A330 jetliner family. The newest evolution is Airbus’ A330neo, which builds on the A330’s proven economics, versatility and reliability while reducing fuel consumption by a further 14 percent per seat. Comprised of two versions – the A330-800neo and the A330-900neo – this aircraft incorporates latest-generation Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines with 112-inch diameter fan for a 10:1 bypass ratio, more seats and new cabin features.
The A330, A350 XWB and A380 make up the Airbus widebody aircraft Family, which uniquely spans the 250 to over-500 seats segment.

Lion Group celebrates first deliveries of Airbus aircraft

Best-selling A320 joins the fleet of Batik Air
12 NOVEMBER 2014 PRESS RELEASE
Indonesia’s Lion Group has celebrated the delivery of its first three Airbus aircraft at a special ceremony in Toulouse today. The event was attended by Rusdi Kirana, Chairman and Co-Founder of Lion Group and Fabrice Brégier, Airbus President and CEO.
The aircraft are the first from an order placed by Lion Group in March 2013 for 234 A320 Family aircraft, comprising 109 A320neo, 65 A321neo and 60 A320ceo. The initial batch of A320s are set to join the fleet of the Group’s full service subsidiary Batik Air, flying on domestic and regional services. The Batik aircraft are powered by CFM56 engines and feature a premium two class layout seating a total of 156 passengers
“We are delighted to celebrate the delivery of our first Airbus aircraft. These A320s, and later the A320neo and larger A321neo, will allow us to continue our expansion with one of the most modern and advanced fleets in the world,” said Rusdi Kirana. “In service with Batik Air, the A320s will combine the highest levels of in-flight comfort for our premium services with the lowest operating costs the industry has to offer. We will be looking forward to take delivery of our Airbus aircraft in the months and years to come.”
"This ceremony marks a new exciting milestone in our relationship with Lion Group and with Indonesia, one of the most promising, fastest-growing markets in the world,” said Fabrice Brégier. “We are particularly proud to welcome Batik Air as our newest Airbus operator and we are sure that the incredible flexibility offered throughout the A320 Family will perfectly fit Lion Group’s ongoing expansion plans.”
Offering the lowest operating costs in its class, the A320 Family is the world's best-selling single-aisle product line. To date, nearly 11,000 aircraft have been ordered and more than 6,200 delivered to over 400 customers and operators worldwide. The A320ceo and A320neo share over 95 percent airframe commonality, enabling seamless operation of the various models in a single fleet. The A320neo (new engine option) incorporates cabin innovations, new generation engines and Sharklets (large wing tip devices) which together will deliver 20 percent in fuel savings per seat by 2020.
Since taking to the skies in 2000, Jakarta-based Lion Group has become one of Asia’s fastest-growing airlines. Today the Group operates an extensive network covering over 70 destinations in South East Asia. The Groups’ units comprise low cost Lion Air, full service Batik Air and domestic regional unit Wings Air. In addition, the Group owns 49 per cent of Malaysia-based Malindo Air, combining low cost and premium service options.

THE MONTH IN REVIEW: OCTOBER 2014

One of the two new business transactions logged in October moved an Airbus customer into the top 10 ranking by order volume, while the other sale expanded the Airbus corporate jet (ACJ) bookings. For the month’s 50 deliveries, the aircraft involved ranged from the A320 product line to the A380.
BOC Aviation’s acquisition of two A320ceo (current engine option) airliners during October positions it as Airbus’ 10th largest customer, with a total of 257 orders – composed of 251 A320 Family aircraft and six A330s.  Headquartered in Singapore, BOC Aviation is owned by Bank of China – offering a wide range of lease management and aircraft finance services both directly and through its parent company.
Also included in Airbus’ October order book was an ACJ319 for an unnamed private customer.  The ACJ319 is one of the most popular members of Airbus’ ACJ family, combining the widest and tallest cabins of any business jets with intercontinental range in this size category.
These new bookings brought net orders registered by Airbus during the first 10 months of 2014 to 794.
Deliveries during October were led by the A320 Family, with 42 aircraft from this best-selling product line provided to international customers.  The seven A330s delivered in the month included the first of six A330-300 versions on order by SriLankan Airlines, joining this all-Airbus operator’s current fleet of A320s, A321s, A330-200s and A340-300s.
Completing the October deliveries was Airbus’ handover of another A380 flagship jetliner.
With the month’s order and delivery activity, Airbus’ backlog as of October 31 stood at 5,860 aircraft.
