Incident: Air Canada A320 near Montreal on Oct 18th 2011, hydraulic failure indication

An Air Canada Airbus A320-200, registration C-FMSX performing flight AC-112 from Vancouver,BC to Montreal,QC (Canada) with 102 people on board, was on approach to Montreal about 20 minutes prior to estimated touch down when the crew received a green hydraulic system reservoir low quantity indication. The according checklist was actioned, the crew declared emergency, requested emergency services and a tow truck on stand by and continued the approach to Montreal for a safe landing on runway 24R. The aircraft was towed off the runway about 20 minutes after landing.

The Canadian TSB reported the sensor in the green hydraulic system's tank was replaced


Incident: Qantas A388 enroute on Nov 4th 2011, engine shut down in flight

A Qantas Airbus A380-800, registration VH-OQC performing flight QF-31 (sched. dep Nov 3rd) from Singapore (Singapore) to London Heathrow,EN (UK) with 258 passengers and 25 crew, was enroute east of Dubai (United Arab Emirates) when the crew needed to shut engine #4 (Trent 972, outboard right hand) down due to a low oil quantity indication. The aircraft drifted down to FL280, diverted to Dubai, entered a holding at FL100 for about one hour and lande safely on runway 30L about 2.5 hours after the engine shut down.

The airline confirmed engine #4 was shut down after the crew noticed problems with an oil quantity.

Incident: Air India A321 near Kolkata on Nov 3rd 2011, engine leaking

An Air India Airbus A321-200, flight AI-332 from Delhi (India) to Bangkok (Thailand), was enroute near Kolkata (India) when the crew decided to divert to Kolkata due to technical problems. The aircraft landed safely in Kolkata.

Passengers reported the crew announced technical problems as reason for their diversion. After landing a large oil leak was seen at the right hand engine forming a large puddle underneath the engine, maintenance staff working on the engine trying to stop the leak while the passengers were kept aboard with all engines and air conditioning off. Following passenger protests about the heat aboard the passengers were finally bussed to the terminal.

A replacement aircraft reached Kolkata with a delay of 4 hours
